Sweetgrass is considered sacred in some Native American communities. "The Sweetgrass Method weaves the parent and community, student and school as the three main team members in the success of reducing bullying behaviors. This method also focuses on buy-in, collaboration, and staff development. The Sweetgrass Method includes a cultural methodology that incorporates traditional values (flexible to tailor to each tribe's traditions), consultation with traditional practitioners, implementing stories, songs and teachings and braiding them into a well-grounded holistic approach to bullying prevention."
