Training Overview

Introduction

It recognizes and acknowledges the value in trauma-informed care yet explains that by focusing on trauma centers the illness, decenters sovereignty, and perpetuates a deficit-based narrative. It highlights the ways in which focusing on the trauma and not on the strengths and resilience that resides within Indigenous communities is problematic.
